Ford's Warriors in Pink Against Breast Cancer

For seventeen years Ford Motor Company has been a proud sponsor of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®. The Race for the Cure is a 5k run/walk and millions of people participate globally. The ultimate goal of the race is to build awareness for the disease and to raise money for research. The race also serves as means of support for those who have loved ones who are suffering, for survivors and for people who have passed away from breast cancer. It celebrates the lives of millions of women, men, and families who have been affected by the deadly disease. The Race for the Cure first started in 1983 in Dallas, Texas. Now more than 28 years later, the fight against breast cancer is still going strong.

Ford Motor Company is the only automotive National Sponsor of the event and has contributed over $110 million. Some other National Sponsors of the cause include Yoplait, Ask.com, Bank of America, American Airlines, New Balance and REMAX. Together, these sponsors annually fund over $12 million. Thousands of Ford employees and dealers participate in the Race for the Cure. Ford’s Warriors in Pink let participants share their stories about breast cancer on www.fordcares.com .

We encourage everyone to participate in the Race for the Cure. “Up to 75 percent of the net income from each domestic Affiliate Race stays in the local community to fund breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment projects. A minimum of 25 percent…supports the Komen Race for the Cure Award and Research Grant Programs.”
