Ford to Keep Fans Engaged with the New Focus ST

Back in October of 2010, Ford Motor Company debuted the New Ford Focus ST at the Paris Motor Show. Flash forward to September 2011 and Ford enthusiasts are still anxiously awaiting news about the Focus ST. The Focus ST, which will be Ford’s first global high performance vehicle, is scheduled to hit the international market in 2012.

There have been many enhancements to the new Focus ST. Even though this is the first Focus ST that will be available globally, it is actually not a new model for Ford. This is actually the third generation of the ST model. One thing that is different on this model will be the new 2.0 Liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine with 250 PS (246 hp). Ford is making sure that they are perfecting the “muscular sports performance” down to the sound of the engine. The Focus ST will handle better than ever because of the new Torch Vectoring System and Electric Power Assisted Steering System (EPAS). The ST’s exterior was also redesigned to match the high-performance capability Ford is aiming to achieve. One striking new sport design is the one-piece trapezoidal grille in the front of the vehicle. On this grill you will also find a red ST badge. Visit Ford’s website to see a more in depth description of the new design, performance capability, and technology.

In an effort to keep their fans updated with the progress and development of the Focus ST, Ford has announced that they will share exclusive reports on the Ford Focus Facebook page . On their page, Ford will post videos, photos, and stories showing the different stages of the vehicle’s development. Jost Capito, Ford’s Director of Global Performance Vehicles states “…social media gives us a rare opportunity to show enthusiasts how this car is progressing, gives insight into its technologies and builds excitement in this community”. Ford is certainly a brand leader when it comes to their social media strategy, so it will be interesting to see how this campaign turns out.
